Troubleshooting
This table quotes the messages the product puts on screen, so match the wording you can see.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Connect Insights to Policy Manager" on Best Practices, with no device groups available | Insights has no Best Practices results for any device group you are authorized to see | Confirm the FireMon Best Practices Assessment is assigned to your device groups in Administration > Compliance, then wait for the next daily collection. See Best Practices and Controls and assessments |
| The same message, although your Best Practices assessment is assigned and its controls are passing and failing normally | Insights finds the assessment by name. A renamed or duplicated assessment is still collected, but is not the one this page reads | Restore the assessment's name to Best Practices in Administration > Compliance. It fills in after the next daily collection. See Controls and assessments |
| "Insufficient data for this device group" on KPI | Insights could not assemble enough AI-written observations for the selected group in time. The rest of the page is unaffected | Switch to a group with more collected metrics, or return after the next collection. See KPI |
| No device groups available, and every page empty | Your SIP account authorizes no device groups, or no collection has yet produced metrics for the ones it does authorize | If the account is new, wait for the next daily run. Otherwise add the user to a SIP user group that authorizes at least one device group. See Users and Access and Device groups |
| A figure you know is out of date | Metric values come from a collection that runs once a day, so they can be up to 24 hours old | Wait for the next run. Rules, objects and network paths asked through Ask AI come from your live system, and will already show the change. See How Insights gets your data |
| Ask Policy Manager AI unavailable, with the reason "Feature disabled by your organization" | Ask AI is switched off for your Insights account. It is an account-level setting, and Insights has no screen for changing it | Contact FireMon to have it turned back on. See Ask AI |
| "Policy Manager is not connected" in Ask AI | The persistent connection your SIP installation holds open to Insights is down, so live queries have nowhere to go | Check that your SIP application server still reaches ws.insights.prod.firemon.cloud on TCP 443, and that the Insights plugin is running. Use Demo Data answers from a FireMon demonstration system rather than yours. See Prerequisites and Ask AI |
| "AI is not finished being set up for your organization. Contact FireMon support." in Ask AI | No AI model provider is available to your account | Contact FireMon support. See Ask AI |
| Someone cannot sign in at all | Either they have never opened Insights from the SIP module menu, which is what creates the account, or there is no email address on their SIP account, which Insights builds the account from | Send them through the module menu once, or add the email address in Administration > Access. See Signing In |
| Change empty, with no workflows available | Policy Planner is a separately licensed SIP add-on, and without it the collection gathers no tickets and no workflows. A licensed system looks the same when no workflow has tickets | Confirm your Policy Planner license, then wait for the next collection. See Change and Policy Planner |
