CloudWatch Alarm Actions Is Not Enabled

Overview

This check verifies whether CloudWatch alarm actions have been enabled (ActionEnabled set to true). Failure of the control occurs when an alarm action associated with a CloudWatch alarm is disabled.

Automatic alarm actions serve the purpose of notifying you when a monitored metric exceeds predefined thresholds. If an alarm action is disabled, no actions are executed when the alarm transitions between states, leading to a lack of alerts for metric changes. To promptly address security and operational concerns, we strongly advise enabling CloudWatch alarm actions.
